Transfer and change of registrar

Change registrar, transfer a name to another holder.

Changing registrar

The holder may change registrar, subject to their contractual commitments. It is up to the holder to choose the new registrar, which carries out the change and makes sure the holder's rights are not affected (Charter, articles 32 to 34).

Voluntary transfer

A transfer to another holder is only validated if both parties have agreed (articles 29 and 30).

Forced transfer

The Consortium carries out a forced transfer after a court decision, an expert's decision in the alternative dispute resolution procedure, a corporate operation (merger, split) where the original holder can no longer transfer, repeated customer complaints about a registrar's loss of service, or a registrar ceasing service for breaching its agreements (article 31).

Blocking

A name is blocked on a court decision, during an alternative dispute resolution procedure, or during a verification procedure (article 28).
