Official registry of Haiti's national domain

The 5 steps

From choosing the name to renewing it: the full path.

  1. Choose a name

Pick the name that represents your activity and the right extension: .ht for everyone, .com.ht for businesses, .gouv.ht for the State, and so on. Read the naming rules before you decide.

  2. Check availability

The search tool queries the registry and tells you whether the name is free, already registered or cannot be registered.

  3. Choose a registrar

The registry does not sell names directly. You go through an accredited registrar, which sets its own prices and services. Compare them in the directory.

  4. Register

The registrar asks for the holder's details and, depending on the extension, supporting documents. The name goes live once the registry has processed the request.

  5. Manage and renew

The name stays valid for twelve months. Renew it with your registrar before it expires so you do not lose it.

Life cycle of a domain name

Here is what happens after expiry if the name is not renewed.

  1. Day 0The name is registered.
  2. Month 12Expiry: the holder has 15 days to renew.
  3. Expiry + 15 daysThe name is suspended for 45 days.
  4. Expiry + 60 daysThe name is deleted automatically.
