Official registry of Haiti's national domain

Registration conditions

Who can register a .ht, and what it gives you.

Who can register?

Any applicant, Haitian or not, with or without a legal presence in Haiti (Charter, article 4). They must go through an accredited registrar.

What you get

A right of use of the name, for you and not for the registrar (article 5), for its whole period of validity (article 39).

Two mandatory contacts

You must name an administrative contact and a technical contact. This can be yourself or a third party, who then has no right over the name (articles 75 to 77).

Free zones and restricted zones

In a free zone no supporting document is needed and the name is confirmed on payment (article 17). In a restricted zone (.edu.ht, .gouv.ht, .rel.ht, .med.ht, .coop.ht) the name is reserved provisionally, then confirmed after the documents are checked, to be provided within a month (articles 15, 16 and 26).

First come, first served

Requests are handled in the order received (article 18). The registry does no pre-registration or reservation before the creation request (article 27).
